Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) based at Visakhapatnam, successfully undertook live mating exercise on 02 Jun 2019. The exercise included personnel transfer from a bottomed submarine, which simulated as a submarine in distress. The evolution was undertaken by an Indian crew and marks the culmination of training phase on the East coast. The submarine hatches on which the mating was carried out has been certified by IN Submarine Designer (DND (SDG)). This is another new skill that has been acquired by the #IndianNavy. The live mating exercise will enable DSRV integration and pave the way for Indian Navy to emerge as a submarine rescue provider in the #IOR.
