James Fisher Defence wins ROV salvage contract

James Fisher Defence (JFD) has been awarded a four-year contract to provide Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) support services to the Ministry of Defence’s Salvage and Marine Operations (S&MO) team.

The contract affords S&MO 24-hour, on-demand access to JFD’s Engineering Support Cell for specialist support with ROV maintenance, mobilisation, operations, provision of spares and equipment hire services.

Technical support, advice and expertise will be provided to S&MO by an Inchinnan-based team of eight personnel including ROV pilots, ROV technicians, subsea engineers, project engineers and project managers.

JFD enjoys a lengthy history of safe ROV deployment and operation and offers similar support solutions for a range of sub-sea and offshore scenarios to the defence and commercial industries.

JFD’s established support network also includes James Fisher and Sons plc sister-companies Osiris and Rumic, as well as Babcock and a number of specialist providers with whom JFD enjoys strong, established relationships. Between them, the network ensures JFD has the capability to provide S&MO with rapid responses and comprehensive solutions.
