October 22 - 25 2008 - Indonesia
A successful training course was run in the Indonesian Naval Base at Surabaya where 65 submariners were instructed on how to dress in the newly acquired RFD Beaufort Mk10 Submarine Escape and Immersion Equipment (SEIE), how to escape under pressure and how to board the single man liferaft, which forms part of the SEIE, to await rescue. Two fully qualified British instructors spent the week making sure that the best possible use of their time was spent both in the classroom and in the Indonesian Navy's Submarine Escape Training Tank (SETT). A brief diary of the course can be downloaded in PDF here. The following images give a flavour of the training course and Sonistics Ltd will be pleased to discuss similar courses with any navy requiring this specialised training.
