Russian and Norwegian Test Submarine Rescue Vessel
For the first time a Russian ship, the RFS TITOV and a Polish submarine, the ORP SEP, are operating together to test the Russian submarine rescue system, AS-34. It is one of a series of events which is taking place as part of the NATO hosted submarine escape and rescue exercise Bold Monarch 08. It is currently taking place off the coast of Norway in the Northern Skagerrak area. Demonstrating the importance of a pan-national, global rescue capability, the exercise is testing submarine escape and rescue personnel, equipment and procedures from fourteen nations (eleven NATO countries plus Russia, Ukraine and Israel).

INTERNATIONAL SUBMARINE ESCAPE AND SEA SURVIVAL TRAINING

Sonistics Ltd had a great show and would like to thank everyone who visited the stand and participated in Sea Survival discussions.Oi is not really the exhibition to try and convert operators to the use of personal man over board safety aids but we received an amazing response from everyone we talked with and have come away with some stimulating ideas for future development of SEApac Watch this space...... Nicole Kennedy of CSL in Aberdeen was lucky (?) enough to win the Disney character Sebastian in our fun draw. Congratulations Nicole, I'm sure you've always wanted a plush, red Lobster!
