Welcome to Sonistics.com

Sonistics Ltd provides research and promotional support for the UK Submarine Escape and Rescue Project. During 2005 Sonistics provided a platform for UK Contractors to display and discuss their goods and services to all NATO nations with a submarine fleet plus thirteen Partner nations.

The event was held as part of the Submarine Escape and Rescue Working Group conference held at NATO headquarters in Brussels and was a great success.

A few words about us

The aim of Sonistics.com is to provide the global submarine community with a vehicle to promote the supply of life-saving equipment together with access to the latest information and technology. Sonistics.com will benefit both contractors and submariners alike. A link to Sonistics.com will be emailed quarterly to every nation and it is hoped that a live forum will develop.

There will be sections for every aspect of SMER – from medical to mechanical and any ‘breaking news’ will be emailed between the regular editions. An important section of Sonistics.com will be the Contractors’ Directory which will contain information and links to every supplier of equipment or services to SMER in the UK and it is hoped that this will be extended to the global market within the first year.

News Letters

PEARL HARBOR, HI--A crewmember from USS Key West (SSN 722) receives training with the Submarine Escape Immersion Equipment (SEIE MK10).

Several submarines have already installed the new system including USS Key West, one of 17 attack submarines homeported in Pearl Harbor slated to implement the new survival suit and accompanying equipment.

This suit allows survivors to escape a disabled submarine (DISSUB) at depths down to 600 feet, at a rate of eight or more men per hour. The SEIE is designed to enable a free ascent from a stricken submarine and to provide protection for the submariner on reaching the surface until rescued.
